The Writing Process for "The Tala Chronicles"
" Song Of The Red Wolf"
The First book in the Tala Chronicles series.
3books To Write, and no time
I am in the process of finishing the outline for book two of "The Tala Chronicles", I have temporarily titled it Red Mahogany. (read book one "Song of The Red Wolf" and you will see why) Oh no, I just gave a spoiler for book one, that name is foreshadowed in book one for book two.
I also have two other books that I am writing the outline for as well. Both of these have the potential of being TV movies and one for being a Big screen movie. Cool! One is "Winter Snow" (oh no another spoiler that is in book one "Song of the Red Wolf".)
But, back to the actual topic, writing and no time. Well that is everyone's problem. I work a full time job, have two part time online businesses, and two of the sweatiest fur babies on the planet, I do my own housework and yard-work, just like everyone else.
So my house is never as clean as I would like, my yard is neat and clean but I do not plant flowers or anything that requires more than cutting the grass and trimming shrubs. If it needs water, good-luck.
I turn on the TV, or put in a DVD or turn on music very low, and all I do is write and write and write some more. I make a point, to zero everything else out of my mind but my writing, I may only write for 30 mins. or 10 mins. at a time but I write as much and as fast as I can, I do not worry about spelling or punctuation.
The most important part of this is focus, focus, focus, no matter where you are learn to tune everything out.
Something else I no longer do, I do not write on a computer, I hand write everything. I buy several spiral note books, the one that has 5 subjects with the dividers in it.
I will explain how I use the note books in another post in a couple of days.
Oh by the way my 3rd giveaway is ending this evening so enter to win book one of "The Tala Chronicles", "Song of The Red Wolf". I will sign the book for you.
If you do not win this time I will have another giveaway starting in seven days, I think that is the required length of time between giveaways that Goodreads wants.
Review Questions and Anwers.
How do you deal with writer’s block?
Writers block is real, there is always something that gets in the way. For example the series I am now writing I have been struggling with how to start the second book. I know where I want book two and book three to go and where I want it to end, but starting book two has been difficult. Another part of the puzzle is having enough time to write. (I work a full time job and run two part-time online businesses). So telling you all of this helps me with writers block, life itself helps. I can look around; listen to people, TV and radio. And I read any and everything I can. There are always stories that need to be told. Just look around. So once I have an idea I start an outline, I start with 50 chapters, or scenes, I write four or five words for each of the 50 chapters or scenes. Then I do it again for the same 50 chapters or scenes but this time I write a paragraph. If I cannot write the paragraph, there are two things I gauge: one do I have enough information, if not then I spend the amount of time needed to do research for the topics I am writing about. (Even though it is fiction, fact is a pre-curser for fiction). Two: if research does not give me the story that I am looking for then I put it to the side and start another story.
The thing is writing is not only about putting words on a page. It’s about the love and passion for writing, it’s about wanting to write a story to share, it’s about endurance, focus and the uncanny willingness to want to do the very best job you possible can. Writing is not easy. I wish you the best. Being an author is an amazing thing and is something one should be proud of once they have written any type of book

What’s the best thing about being a writer?
To actually see your own words in print, and that your readers want to read what you have written.
What’s your advice for aspiring writers?
Don't give up. Set very reasonable goals that you can live with, and read and write if possible everyday.
What are you currently working on?
"The Tala Chronicles" "Song of The Red Wolf", is the first book in the series. I have not come up with the name of the second book yet, but the name of book three is 'Red Moon Rising" (meaning something or some event will be a major shift in the story and the lives of our hero's).
"The Tala Chronicles" is a Ghost story, but there are two converging plots happening in the story. Is the family cursed? and if so why? And the books are based on true events.
How do you get inspired to write?
The first books I wrote was during the economic crisis of 2008, my business was suffering, the country, everyday people and families were suffering. It was a horrible time for everyone, so I wrote my first self-help book for families. I wanted to help if I could. Getting inspired to write it's just deep inside me, it's a part of me. So my inspiration is with me all the time.
Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?
"The Tala Chronicles" is based on true events, and I wanted to tell the story of a family torn, I actually put a tape recorder on the 75 years mans chest so I could record his story, his story only lasted about 3 1/2 minutes but I have created three books from it. The books are based in Alabama, the family in the story are true, many of the events pertaining the family are true, many of the characters that are also in the story are true, and the events are true, but it has been fictionalized and names and places have been changed. "Gluten-Free Meal Ideas" Offer what you want
I have another book that I published in May of 2015, Gluten-Free Meal Ideas with more than 120 recipes. The book is about different meals and foods that are gluten-free, no baking breads or pastries are included in the version.
But it does include conversion charts all in once place, measurement charts all in once place and some of my favorite recipes, one of course is bread that is Gluten-Free and it is actually pretty good.
Because Gluten-Free Bread for the most part is terrible. No matter where you buy it. But, it is pretty good with the recipe included in the book. You can purchase the eBook everywhere, Amazon, Barns and Nobel, Books-A-Million but on Smashwords you have the option to offer what you want to offer for the book. So check it out. Advise to New Authors part B
Song of The Red WolfIt's been an interesting and somewhat stressful day, but a good day. I hope everyone everywhere had a really great day.
In my last post I mentioned quality of writing. The thing is the quality of writing seems to be suffering somewhat, what I mean by that is, books are not being properly edited and proof read.
Even many traditionally published books are not hitting the mark as they once did. I believe the reason for this is costs, editing costs are very expensive, and with the profit of selling books at almost nothing. Even the big publishing houses are not doing the detailed editing they once did.
Now everybody in the publishing world wants books that are close to print ready, so that means that when you are finished writing your masterpiece, you will need to have it edited professionally if possible and proof read if possible.
I learned this the hard way my first books were traditionally published and they were not edited as well as they should have been. And quite frankly it is embarrassing.
So just know that writing a great story is very important, and creating that great book cover is also important, you don't want to put in all that effort and possibly your own money if you didn't have your book professionally edited.
Make sure you budget money for editing when you are planning all your options and costs.
Make sure you sit back, relax, do your research for your first book or your next book and really try to enjoy the process.
Writing your story and seeing it in print makes all the hard work worthwhile.
